Bo,
The one thing that I really liked with the Stec30 was the completeness of the install kit. Having everything you need from the start makes the job a whole lot easier! Yes, I had to redo some of the AL tubing on the cockpit floor (i.e. fuel transfer line and one of the hydraulic lines) to make room for the roll servo, which is mounted both on the floor and to the center console. The pitch servo is mounted on one of the sides of the elevator control rod tunnel behind the seat backs (passenger side). I had to deviate a bit from the plans since I made the tunnel too narrow. So, instead of mounting the brackets on the inner walls of the tunnel, I had to mount it on the OUTER walls, necessitating a bigger hole cutout. Mounting it this way aligned the control wheel right underneath the elevator control rod, where it should be. The kit comes with the necessary brackets for the elevator control rod and for the center alieron rod, both brackets are riveted right on the push rods.
When I visit my plane this week, I will shoot some pics for you, maybe I'll ask good 'ole Marv to include these pics in his Lancair library as well.
Best regards,
Rick PS And yes, this guy seems to be the top guy in our area, with very good references and credentials.
