Gerard’s BFR raises the question – do we
still have DH instructors who pull CB’s to demonstrate they just as
described – DH’s!
One can cite numerous scenarios why this is stupidity
personified. The most famous one here in Aus in the 1960’s, when
two golden boy examiners flying together in a departmental brand new HS125,
doing circuit training and each trying to fool the other by just the sort of
action Gerard has experienced. As they completed what turned out to be the last
landing wondering why it was particularly noisy they noticed - you got it
– the gear CB was pulled. They were found in the aircraft by those who
got on board each pointing a finger at the other.
