Big deal. They will be hopelessly obsolete and useless then, right? I mean,

This post is actually tongue-in-cheek, since I have some vintage 1983 King
Silver Crown stuff in my Cessna that I plan to transfer to the Lancair
eventually. Would that I could afford a Garmin 430. But the point remains,
some things are better off discarded when they break. Though probably not a
$10,000 GPS unit...
