Ron,
If you are interested in a deal with the devil, temporarily wire a manual
push button switch across the low pressure switch with enough of a lead to have
the switch available on the seat next to you. Select gear-down and push
the button. Release the push button shortly after the gear-down-and-locked
lights come on and the pump starts to make straining noises, as you are now
simulating the pressure switch. This devilish consideration is, of
course, if the problem is actually with the pressure switch.
Before that, construct an emergency check list for gear down failures with
the emergency extension procedure as the last set of items on the
checklist. As Rob mentioned, cracking the dump valve and working from that
result is a good starting point for debugging the problem.
