I have an IO360 in my LNC2 and I have never had a missed start using this method.

Mixture ICO
Throttle wide open
Crank

When she fires mixture is pushed in and throttle retarded.  Two handed boogie!

This fail safe method came to me courtesy of my AME Chris Dakin here in Kingston, Canada

It seems all wrong but it works!  I used to fly a fuel injected Twin Comanche in Kenya and I never learned to get it going consistently on a hot start.  Isolated game park strips were not a good place to have a flat battery!  A pilot came through here in the summer in a Twin Comanche and could not restart after fuelling.  He came into the hangar looking for help and was given the start procedure above.  He argued it would not work but finally took a chance on it.  He went away a believer.
