My reading of Jeff's emails and the responses, thereto, on this list, is that he speaks very clearly and logically for a whole bunch of us. The tactics and approach are not counterproductive. I prefer to classify it as a plea to the community of Lancair builders and flyers to reflect a bit on their flying - to see if there are things to work on. And there are.
It took a hard-nosed insurance industry to nudge us in that direction. Whether we like it or not, I believe the insurance companies have defined us as a community and we all pay a significant price for that. In the minds of fellow citizens in the Sacramento area, I also believe this accident may have expanded it to the entire experimental community. My judgment? The trend is ominous.
