Platitude - Freedom comes with responsibility.
There are no "natural" rights, regardless of what it says in the Constitution. If you exercise your freedom to the detriment of the majority it will be taken away.
If you ride your off road motorcycle all over without regard to other's property rights and without respect for the environment, that right will be taken away. (It largely has.)
If you insist your right to hunt and fish extends to extinction your right to do so will be taken away. (It largely has.)
If you insist your right to ride a motorcycle extends to saddling the public with your life long care, you will be forced to wear a helmet.
If you insist your right to fly model airplanes extends to making as much noise as you want, that right will be taken away. (It largely has.)
If you insist your right to skateboard extends to destroying public property, scaring pedestrians, and being belligerent, that right will be taken away. (It largely has.)
If you insist your right to fly extends to placing the flying and non flying public at risk, then that right will be taken away.
I thank Jeff for persistently excoriating the "Right Stuff" attitude and I thank Brent Regan and Hamid for their willingness to be "pudnockers" too. I don't want recreational flying to go the way of so many of my past endeavors.
