The text entries on Cheng Shin tires purchased more than a year ago:
CHENG SHIN
11 x 4.00 - 5
8 PR Load Range D
NYLON
NOT FOR HIGHWAY USE
C-217-7
MADE IN TAIWAN
MAX INFLATION 70 PSI
The tires I bought for the same price ($16) from Aerocrafters in mid
January, 2006 have a few text changes even though they look the same:
MADE IN CHINA
C-217-8
MAX INFLATION 94 PSI
It seems the newer tire from "China" is a design/manufacturing
improvement allowing for a greater inflation pressure. Maybe it will last
longer.
Hopefully, someone with a tire from Dresser will transmit the bas relief
text on it (I believe it is the same as these newer Cheng Shin tires).
BTW, the measured tread width for these tires is 3.75
inches.
Now that you are thoroughly confused about mini truck or trailer tires
carrying more pressure than the load rating suggests - Don't worry, they are
marked "Not For Highway Use" anyway. Just what are these things
"normally" used on? Eh? Eh? Go Karts? Grocery
Carts? Mall Security Guard Golf Carts? Small Hi-Speed aircraft?
