Does anyone have experience with this Aerocraft item? I would prefer a
single com antenna if there is minimal loss.
Or, there is always Garmin’s SL30 “Two Nav/Comms in One” http://www.garmin.com/products/sl30/
Concerning the main topic, I used ˝”
3M Copper Tape with conductive adhesive. It was applied externally in an X
pattern for each antenna. (See Archived Messages some time ago.)

Subject: [LML] Re: My solution to Comm Antenna ground plane
I hope this doesn't start a heated debate; it's just an observation.
Take
it for what it's worth.
I know of at least one Legacy that uses a single com antenna driven by
the
radios through a duplexer. (Not a diplexer, they are quite
different.) The
com antenna is mounted in the molded recess on the belly. The only
special
consideration was using star washers between the mounting plate of the
antenna and the bare carbon fiber of the skin. I've flown in the
plane, and
listened to it on my handheld. The radios work great.
