I'm not Scott, but I just landed from an "away" weekend and saw your request
for info. I can tell you what I did and saw.
I was leaned 70 degrees lean of peak in my LIVP, 14,000 feet, MAP 31", RPM
2500, fuel flow 16.6 GPH. Left the power in (and leaned) all the way to the
traffic pattern except for a 5 second experiment in pushing the throttle up
to 34" at 1500' AGL which did not produce noticeable acceleration. First and
only power reduction was to 12" MAP on crosswind, with the landing being
managed with speed brakes, flaps and gear at the appropriate times. I did
not touch or adjust RPM or Mixture but I did pull the throttle to idle at
touchdown. The engine quit during the landing roll. Outside of my wife
getting nosy about "what happened?", I think that everything worked exactly
as it should. Comments?
