Have I missed something here? Doesn't 28 vs. std. 24 degrees (as originally
mentioned) represent more retarded mag timing rather than advanced? I would
think that it would decrease power, lower EGT and slightly raise CHT and
cylinder pressure. How could this negatively impact longevity? Advanced
timing and its associated deleterious effects I understand, but with
retarded aren't we essentially gutting the power curve?
