To John Cox,
In light of all the devastation, would it be better to send ITEMS that are
needed, as opposed to funds? At this point, it appears there is nowhere to
bank or shop. If everyone went through their closets and did a "spring
cleaning" we could send lots and lots of clothes to folks who don't have
anything on their backs. I recall when this happened in Florida a few years
back, you could send to outlying post offices in care of "Red Cross" and the
items could be handed out through the Red Cross or another group.
As things settle down a bit and Joe (Joe who??) gets back into his home
area, the needs could be re-evaluated and send what is necessary? Just
