Steve, thanks for your insight, I had came to the same conclusion.  I have found the parts that I need to get the airplane repaired and back into the air at reasonable amounts.  Things were not as bad as they first seemed. The good news about composite aircraft is they are very repairable.

Thanks to the others who offered parts and advice.

I ran this by my insurance guy, his comments were:

You should discuss the options of making a claim with your agent so you can
make a decision with all the facts.

Consider, one claim may impact your future insurance.....two
claims will definitely impact your insurance and very likely may make
you uninsurable.......three claims....use your imagination. Insurance
underwriters are particularly sensitive to claims that could
have or should have been avoided.

Makes sense to me, the Ins. Companies have to look at each risk with profit
and loss potential as the bottom line.
