Greg,
  My original data plate that passed was aluminum, had a sticky-back as many, many I have seen. Further, I can't recall seeing any data plate that was not aluminum. (Experimental and Certified). I suppose one could drill a hole and pop-rivet it on, but I am not clear on aluminum as not a suitable material. Is there an FAR on this?
  I have the option of doing stainless steel, but it cost a whole lot more.
  Please advise, because I think most all of us are wondering. Don

   My AB-DAR won't pass an aluminum data plate and also won't pass it being  applied with adhesive anything. Doesn't meet the regs in either case.  Neither will DAS FED.   Greg T |
