My communcation improved when I purchased an external antenna from Pacific
Coast Avionics. It extends down and aft for six inches or so and then bends
straight aft. You will have to fashion some  sort of ground plane for it. I
mad a spider of 12ga copper wire with about six radials. It works much better.

What kind did you install, where did you install it, and how bad is it? Mine
was from Archer, mounted on the aft fusalage wall, and worked terribly.

Any input from others would be greatly appreciated. My internal Archer Nav
antenna doesn't work worth a hoot either (I haven't upgraded since GPS is
okay, but ILS is very weak too).

Got tired of poor communication. I want to install An exterior radio
communications antenna under my LIVP’s belly. Please tell me which one to
buy and where. Thanks in advance, Noel
