It extends down and aft for six inches or so and then bends straight aft. You will have to fashion some sort of ground plane for it. I mad a spider of 12ga copper wire with about six radials. It works much better. What kind did you install, where did you install it, and how bad is it? Mine was from Archer, mounted on the aft fusalage wall, and worked terribly. Any input from others would be greatly appreciated. My internal Archer Nav antenna doesn't work worth a hoot either (I haven't upgraded since GPS is okay, but ILS is very weak too).
