Turns out my feedback/noise problem on transmit only was produced by my ageing David Clark headset. The exact nature of the problem hasn't been ascertained as yet but using my new flightcom headset there is no feedback.

The strange thing was that it doesn't occur on the ground. It seems radios and their faults are indeed a strange animal to figure out and one must often resort to trial and error.

Thanks for the feedback on static wicks etc..thankfully it doesn't look like I'll be needing them.
