For those of us who look forward to
technology advances, Aerosance has just completed their testing for
certification of the FADEC TSIOF550E system. Coupla changes, both
simple and yet novel, seem to have made it work. The restrictor plate
on the throttle body has been modified with a few holes. This changed
the turbulent airflow at ultra low power settings and yields a smooth
idle. And the circulating fuel flow through the engine is now greater,
keeping the system cool and eliminating vapour surging.
It's been a long time coming. It will be good to have this new
offering among the options. I hope to have it on my ES-P early in the
New Year.
