Charlie Kohler is right. I should have made it clear that I only used the
Baker Seal on fittings that seal thread to thread, never on any part of a
flared fitting.
Done right, flared fittings should not require any kind of sealant -
probably almost forever. Case in point, a friend's 1955 Cessna 180, which
has standard AN flared fittings in the fuel and brake circuits which I know
for a fact have been been disconnected (and reconnected) occasionally over
the years for one reason or another. They are original equipment and do not
leak.
