Please
elaborate on the failure of your older 2 blade MT prop, and the “metallurgical”
problems on their early models. My
older MT was overhauled 2 years ago by Sullivan Propeller Last year, I experienced a pitch change failure resulting from
the pinion gear debonding from the electric motor shaft. The prop remained fine pitch, the overspeed was immediately detected, and I performed a
precautionary landing. I pulled the
prop, rented a car, drove home, and had it repaired the next week. If there are serious metallurgical issues
with propellers that are in service, I would like to know!
