While in Redmond during the Lancair Fly-in I
noticed a different type of rudder pedal set-up in one of the Legacies
being built in there. Instead of being floor mounted, they were hung from
above, with the pivot point above the pedals.
I can see how this would be beneficial in allowing
more leg room, once your feet come off of the rudder pedals, (in flight) it
would allow you to "stow" them under the pedals and all the way forward to the
firewall.
Does anyone have experience with this set-up?
Any pros or cons I am not thinking about?
Being 6' 4", I have marginally enough leg room in
the Legacy and could really use an inch or two more.
