Bill,

Rat shack sells part number 273-1380 a center tapped 1000:8 (primary:
secondary) ohm transformer.  Take your 600 ohm element to one half of the
primary by connecting it to the end and center tap.  Leaving the other
end of the primary floating.  Next hook your 8 ohm connection to the
secondary.  CLOSE ENOUGH! (and only 1.99 each!)

Just try it before closing everything up.
