The installation instructions for the Precise
speed brakes provided by Lancair - at least the
ones I received in October 97 - are incorrect with
regard to the direction of the brakes.

The instructions are to mount them with the
contured faces of the paddles and the actuating
arm facing forward.  Mounting the brakes according
to the markings on them ( RT and LT ) puts the
flat surfaces forward.

A call to Precise confirmed that the flat surfaces
of the paddles should be forward.
