Maybe I am missing something.  I have flown into OSH 6 times. 2 in a mooney and 4 in an RV-4 and never had any serious problems or concerns.  Maybe the fact that there are thousands of arrivals each year with minimum accidents or incidents on arrival or departure colors my thinking.

This operation is well organized and works magnificiently as soom as you get used to the tower telling you "Black and white Mooney, Land left, land short.  Red and white Bonanza, land right, land long, etc.etc.  Compare this to driving your car on a highway and meeting oncoming traffic with a closing speed of over 100 mph and missing him by 3 feet.
