Tom,
An oil filter only retains oil until you take it off, then it is quite
willing to give up more oil than it can hold. A dry start up is the result
of Mark cutting off the top nut (that sends a chill up my spine just imagining
it). If you are actually concerned about this, have a long talk with your
AME.
