Your best bet is to do a
flox release on the outside of the center console to provide a flat surface for
the bearing block. It's another one of those jobs where you can't get at
anything, but somehow you have to!
(FYI: When I was at the
builders' workshop in Redmond for two weeks, the guys there wanted to do a
hurry-up installation of the bearing block. The center console hadn't been
properly fitted at that time, however, and later I had to tear it out and re-do
the installation on the other side of the center console. Just one of many
things done in a hurry in the builders' workshop program that had to be re-done
the right way later on.)
