I am using the XP360 in my 360, although I am still some time away
from flying. The Lancair baffle kit and standard cowling work fine with
the engine. However, if you choose to use the "lightweight sump," as I
did, be aware that the Lancair exhaust won't fit because the sump is
too low. I wanted the sump because of its forward facing induction, but
after finding the exhaust wouldn't fit I seriously considered returning
it and shopping around for one that could be modified. When I called
Lycon to get information on the mod I learned that they don't do that
any more, at least they referred me to another company -- in Bend, I
believe. I finally bit the bullet and built a custom exhaust that runs
between the sump and the intake pipes (no room between the intake pipes
and cowl). It looks great and should work fine, but certainly was a lot
more trouble and expense than just bolting on the stock exhaust.

Will these fit or are there major modifications necessary to make it
work? Any other pro-cons of this engine versus a new Lycoming will also
be appreciated.<<
