Bruce categorizes his pre-oiler as non-flight-critical...

I may be over-cautious, but I like to keep the engine running while in flight, and therefore am critical of anything inserted into my engine oil system.  A risk analysis may show that you would be better off without a pre-oiler of any sort, but once the decision is made to add one, I would think the old flight-proven one would be the way to go.

The Oil-a-matic has been flying for many years.  The company is pretty much a one-man band out in Colorado...you could call George and discuss the operational and flight safety record with him.

 Risk wisely,
