Naf,

Seems to me that, at least on the jets I've worked on, fuel pumps are
running all the time. Some to feed the engines, some to move fuel around for
CG control, etc.

I know some guys that almost never use the boost pump and have never had a
problem - I guess the mechanical pumps are pretty reliable - but it only
takes once, so why chance it? I figure if I'm gong to lug it around all the
time, I might as well use it.
