Every general aviation old timer goes into cardiac arrest when you talk about
using automobile parts in an airplane.
It does not occur to them that the auto makers have hundreds of thousands of
times the experience making switches, relays, servos etc. than an aircraft
maker does.
When was the last time you had an electric window servo fail in your car?
They make these things as good as they reasonably can to prevent warranty
problems.
I won't talk about engines like my Chevy El Camino with 160,000 miles on it
and it still does not use oil.
