We took a best guess on the location for the Stormscope antenna. Did
not work. Had to move it back about 8" and works great. Lancair
Avionics mapped it for us. Kept us out of harms way twice now.
So make certain that you put in the copper mesh shielding in the bottom
of the bay with the pressure compensators. After it is built and
everything is installed and operating, have it skin mapped. It is easy
to install after the paint is on. The hard part was patching up the
hole from the previous location.
Ours is mounted as far aft in the bay with the pressure compensators as
possible. The optimum place was back about 3 more inched directly
beneath the bulkhead.
