Many years ago I managed the running of two aircraft and one of the owners
arranged for the Baron to be used on a cross hire basis, this aircraft was in
excellent condition and when I flew it I never had any problems, as soon as
different pilots stated using it the maintenance went through the roof also the
fuel consumption went up lastly I removed it from the line when one day it went
past me with its wheels down, the clock was activated by the gear being
retracted.
I would never put a aircraft on the line after this unless I could write it of
completely as a tax deduction.
