In Texas (and perhaps other states as well) every licensed insurer within the state is insured by every other insurer practicing within the state. Therefore, one does not have to worry about "fly-by-night" insurers because other insurance companies must pick up coverage of any insurer that goes broke. Texas law also prescribes the format and verbage of the coverages specified within the insurance policies so as to minimize the likelihood that insurers will use exculpatory or tricky language to avoid thier obligations under the policies. For insurers to escape coverage by tricky or deceptive language is contrary to public policy in Texas. Greg Nelson
