In my opinion, connecting both pumps (in series, in my case) to the fuel
source with a selector valve means you're still carrying the weight of two
pumps but making a more logical use of them.
Dan, Another, possibly easier, way to the same end is with a simple
crossfeed valve. I put such a valve in my 320 and by opening it, I can pump
both wings with either pump. I agree that some type of alternate method
should be designed into any LNC2 to deal with the possibility of a single
pump failure.
