Hi All,

Dale,
The website doesn't say anything about fire resistance. I'd rather have individual wires poking through than have a big hole open up when the plastic block melts.
That thought had occurred to me. It was mitigated somwhat by the counter thought that the shorting out of the wiring - in either case - would probably be the more urgent issue should the engine compartment should get that hot. But any immediate danger from fire intrusion could be prevented by a sheetmetal cup over the However ... a little drilling upward yielded this. http://painlessperformance.com/harness4.htm
It's still not definitive for fire resistance (factory "type" doesn't necessarily mean factory equivalent materials) this one, from the actual anufacturer, looks much better - except their wire isn't Tefzel, and I can't fine a listing for just the bulkhead halves and the pins. I'm going to write them.
Also, a little more searching with AltaVista turned up this:
http://www.americanautowire.com/new-stuff.htm
which offers a double advantage of allowing functional grouping via separate connector blocks.
There was also a reference to a "C560" bulkhead connector, as a GM replacement part. I'll have to spend some time running that one down to an AC-Delco part #.
Can't do it now. Gotta get to sleep while I can. I'm on 24-hour call this week, and I don't expect to get much sleep.
