This is what the manual says:
"Remove all the spark plugs from the engine (or connect the plug wires to spare plugs) and lay them on the engine where you can see the spark gaps. Make sure the body of the plug is in contact with something grounded to the engine. Now put the Mode switch in Mode 8 and press the Store switch. This puts the EC3 in ignition diagnostic mode and fires all the coils as if the engine were running at about 3000 RPM. You should see all plugs firing. To end this diagnostic mode, change the Mode switch selection or cycle the power off on the EC3."
(EC3-A8 13B ENGINE CONTROLLER 07-30-13 INSTALLATION AND PROGRAMMING GUIDE 2008 series)
Sure you've got +12V power to the coils?
Are the coils properly grounded?
Coils wired correctly to EM3?
Note the different coil pin-outs from brand to brand.
If yes, I guess you'll have to inspect the program code.

Hi Guys
For those of you with EC3???s.
I wanted to check all coils were firing yesterday so plugged the leads into plugs laying on the top of the engine.
I tried to enter the coil diagnostic with Mode 8 and pressing Store. I got nothing.
So I checked the injector diagnostic Mode 1 Cold Start plus Store and the injectors all lit up.
Am I missing/forgetting/Misreading the manual or something else?
Cheers
