Andrew, you are not alone in that regards, having built 4 street rods and finishing up the 5th, I find that it is a lot more fun building things now.
At 82 years of age the fire for flying isn't what it used to be.  With my ole flying friends gone and flying family members away from home, it doesn't
help.   John Downing - Rotary powered WitmanTailwind that cruises at 210.

Just wondering, If anyone else had trouble with the transition phase from building to flying? I just can't seem to get my headspace right to enjoy it.
I have flown the plane quite a few times over the last couple of years, each time having to fix issues that arose, so technically I was still in the building phase.
Seems now, that no major changes are needed, I'm having trouble getting enthusiasm to fly it, even on perfect flying days like today,  and the days are counting down to finish my phase 1.
Its not the flying or the airplane/engine that worries me, I just seem to really miss having to work on it.
cheers, Andrew
