I am in the middle of moving CAS units to the flex plate area.
I marked 25degrees BTDC on the flex plate and installed the torsion damper.
I realized that if I turned the bolts that hold the damper to the flex plate backwards with the nuts on the engine side of the flexplate I could use one of the bolt locations as the trigger.
If ¾” holes were drilled in the large plate the sensors could be mounted to the plate within the bolt circle of the damper.
Flipping the bolts moves the steel material from the proximity of the sensor.
The sensor could also be shimmed outward to tune the gap.
A trigger bracket could be secured using one of the damper bolts.
It appears that the sensors will clear the gear reduction housing.
Any thoughts?
