For those who
were not in the chain, to recap - Max is still in Narsarsuaq, Greenland.
Yesterday he discovered a bad fuel leak coming from under the fuselage.
There was some damage to the skin but nothing he is too concerned with. He
determined it was a fuel transfer pump from the 2 wing tanks. He is unable
to fix this. So he plans to fly with less fuel and therefore change his
route to leap frog from shorter distances rather than longer stretches as he was
originally planning.
I just heard from him in the past 20 minutes and this is the latest
news:
He just this moment texted me and said the weather is looking good and he
will most likely fly today up the coast of Greenland to Kulusuk. All the
airports are closed on Sunday in Greenland and he will attempt Monday or Tuesday
to fly to Reykjavik, Iceland.
He said he slept very well and the last test flight he did
yesterday it flew very well.
