Bobby,

The scoop outlet is variable from about 122 to 4 sq in.  In cruise, an opening of about 35 sq in gives about 185 deg F coolant out of the engine and about 200 deg F oil into the engine with an OAT of about 60 deg F.

The scoop inlet is fixed at 2" x 16" or 32 sq in.  It appears that the inlet should have been larger to handle take off and climb at OAT of higher than about 70 deg F.

It would be interesting to tuft test the outlet when partially closed.  To me, it would seem that the air in the aft part of the outlet might be quite turbulent then.  Steve

Steve

I see you have been very busy.  Great looking scoop and interesting exit velocity data!  Inlet and outlet size range?   I'm still working on mine.   Bobby
