    Steve,  do not know how the glasair performs at stall, but my glastar sportsman is a dog.  I lose elevator control just at the stall which allows the sportsman to bounce beautifully unless you are within 2 inches of the ground.  I assumed that after 50 years of flying dementia had set in and I just lost the art of landing.  Then by chance I was talking to another bloke who mentioned that he knew another bloke with a sportsman who has the same problem.  Rang the gent who assured that from his research all sportsmans are the same, which of course the factory will never admit.  The cure is to put VG’s on the elevator and wing if you wish.  Now full control through the stall.  I now have $120 worth of VG’s on my desk to stick on to see the difference.  Just look at  www.stolspeed.com  and make up your own mind.  He has very compelling evidence to justify the $120.  

    Good luck with the test flight.  My second motor and different cowling almost ready to put the PSRU on it for testing.  Nothing that another 500 hours did not fix.  Neil

I didn't realise there were any West Aussies on this list at all.

I have a 13 B which I want to tear down and rebuild but no PSRU.

I was planning on using a Tracy built one but that is not possible. Any ideas on possible suitable units.

Not really problems, just frustrations sometimes trying to work it out. Being at the airport just makes it harder as it slows progress quite a bit more than working at home.

EC2 is easy once the manual is read a few times and understood properly.

I’ll read with interest as you learn to tune your setup as we have Tracy’s EC2 also with the 4 port.

 

We are in the middle of painting. Wing is on stands in the hangar at SABC serpentine waiting on the fuse to be painted and assembled.

Hoping to start ground testing in about a month or two’s time.
