I just tapped the outlet passage of the housing and put in a set screw.  Easy to remove if I find out later that the oil pump chain or some other vital part gets its oil from the injector drive.  Anybody know if I have screwed up here?  It sounds like that is about what Tracy does.

Guys,  there is a device/plug made just for plugging passages. The file I have attached shows a 1/4" version but many others are available.

Tracy blocks the small oil feed passage between the front housing and the front cover which completely
blocks oil to the metering pump and shaft............As I recall he inserted a piece of rod into the oil passage
in the front housing with just enough protruding to bottom out in the front cover.........Removing the metering
pump and drive gear /shaft and adding a blocking plate will save a few ounces...........
