The mechanical retention of oil seals is a must. As case (and oil) temps go up the press fits for bearings and seals goes away. So where a bearing moving in its mounting hole is possible, and such movement can be a problem, it must be made impossible by some form of locking mechanism.

Ed, thank you for the advice on the cooling air for the re-drive.  I plan to use a small power steering cooler from a Ford product.  I have already checked the oil flow and it will circulate thru the cooler.  JohnD
