No, the jumpering DOES refer to to physical jumpers.  The hi & low limits ARE on the configuration screens.

My best guess for the random high EGT numbers remains the noise coupling that I referred to in last message.

My communication skills must need a tuneup.

Thanks. I will give that a shot (hoping I understand what ya mean by jumper ing....I think you mean on the config screens not physical jumpers).

Actually, it was sequencing from high numbers to lower numbers. ie 9000, 7200, 6800, 5000 etc. No, not rounded numbers but seemed random. It did this when connected to the EGT sensors too. It is a prevailing reason (read that as justification) for me getting the Skyview engine monitor. I sent it in to you ages ago but you couldn't find a reason.

Thanks tho again.

The suggested method for unused EGTs is to jumper each channel pair (red & yellow) together, not all channels together.

You didn't mention what the EC2 EGTs were reading but they should read 0 or 32 if jumpered correctly.   They should blink only if out of limits (32 is not out of default limits) but check what the High & low limits are and set them above (high limit)  & below (low limit) whatever the EGTs are reading and they should stop blinking.

Tracy,
Speaking of EGT's. I am using my Dynon Skyview to read my EGT's and not the EM2.

With the EGT sensors not connected the EGT readout blinks. I asked you if there was a way to stop the blinking and you suggested connecting the sensors to each other which I did, both the red wire to red and yellow to yellow on the separate sensors as well as the red to yellow on the individual sensors. None of this stopped the blinking.

Do you have any other suggestions as the blinking is a bit distracting?

Thanks.

Possible it may be going open (thermocouple sensors are normally a shorted junction) but also possible you are picking up noise on the leads from some source.  These are millivolt level signals so it doesn't take much noise to make a wild reading.  Keep leads away from high tension wires (spark plug leads)  and lines with a lot of switching current (injector, ignition coil power, etc).

Info needed about EGT sensors, on my RWS EM2 #2 EGT about every 10 seconds will come up as 4000 deg. F. or so.  Is the sensor going open or shorted intermittently.  Have not checked it yet, just removed break-in oil after 24 hrs. run time & went with 20w50w full synthetic, getting ready for first flight ( got delayed last year by coolant & oil temp readings in-op., solved & my youngest daughter grad.
