I've been on this list, learning about rotary. But I have a Chevy V6 mounted in my project. Haven't flown it yet, much less started it yet. (First start end of Mar.)
1. Less expensive to own and operate (up front may be more/as much but overall ownership is less) 2. Overhaul for the cost of a set of jugs. Or just buy a brand new crate engine. 3. Parts are cheap 4. Engines are better built/designed 5. They last much longer ( Looking at certified planes for sale, I noticed that a good number of them have had top end overhauls long before the published TBO.
