I've been chasing an oil leak near the rear of the engine, somewhere near the flexplate/psru adapter. (I once read that all rotaries leak oil and I'm beginning to believe them.) Since this area is right above the radiator, any leaking oil gets blown all over the place, making it very difficult to detect the source.
A sure fire way to find oil leaks, if you have a suspicion of where they're coming from is to warp the joint in a clean, light-colored shop rag. Tape/clamp/tie it tightly into place. AN fittings are real easy to wrap. Run the engine for a bit. The offending leak will show up as a spot on the rag.
It is sad that I've had to become an expert in such endeavors.
