I the the idea of the RX8 plate being thicker may be a mis-nomer. Someone reported the 13B plate as 0.065, but I measure mine at 0.08. That is about the same reported thickness as theRX8 plate.
That being said, the renisis plate is shaped better (more conical), and does not have the nasty lightning holes that exist in the 13B plate, so it would still clearly be an improvement. If Tracy changed his damper plate a little, it would be the easiest, lightest, and generally cheapest fix. Given that the 13B plate has held up for a lot of hours in a lot of aircraft, it may very well be sufficient.
I am looking forward to a little more weight on the flywheel. I am hoping that it will further smooth out my idle.

Kelly,
Its on hold waiting to hear how the flywheel fix works out. While heavier by a few pounds, I feel that it is the most durable of any of the solutions discussed to date.
Also, I really liked the idea of Tracy coming up with a way to use the thicker RX-8 flexplate. Whatever we work out, for insurance reasons, it ought to be "blessed" by Tracy as the official RWS upgrade.
