I can’t tell any performance difference using the full throttle collector vs the HP2 resonator. Engine sounds different but not any louder. May even be quieter in cruise. The muffler does not have any build in heat shielding like the “cool can” HP2. My muffler is mounted on the belly about 2.5” - 3” below the bottom skin. A CHT wire fixed with aluminum tape has shown skin temps as high at 160F in some flight conditions but usually no more than 130F.

Just from memory, I thought the DNA mufflers 'sucked'.   What was your experience Mark?

Mark, do you recall how much they were getting for them? I was considering making some in our sheet metal shop at work.

Steve,

You better grab the 3.5" unit while it is still available.  You can get a reducer from Burns Stainless.

Here is a response from the people who make the DNA mufflers.  Apparently they are discontinuing distribution of the muffler and it is no longer available in the USA, for all practical purposes.

Hi Steve,

We don't offer the Full Throttle Muffler in a 2.5" inlet, the smallest is
3", but I only have 3.5" & 4" in stock.  You could use a reducer for the 3.5
to 2.5 but you would have to get that from a muffler shop.  You won't find
the mufflers in the US as we are not actively pursuing manufacturing or
distribution of these mufflers.  We are selling down the inventory that we
have, but we are not producing any mufflers at this time - the demand is
just not there.

Is it possible to get a Full Throttle Muffler with a 2 1/2 inch
inlet/outlet?  If not, do you have a transition piece to move from 2 1/2
inch to 3 inch?  Also, I'm having a hard time finding much of a selection of
DNA mufflers at the locations listed on your dealer list.  I'm in the USA,
and would like to find an internet site that has a wide selection of your
products.  Thanks.

Best Regards,

Steve Thomas
