Hi Guys

Having a Renesis with a Knock Sensor already present and bolted to the housing I built up a Knock Sensor kit amplifier/filter ($20) produced by Silicon Chip Magazine March 2007.
Still building so haven't used it yet but planned to have a visual indicator. Makes sense that perhaps the damage is done before I can respond.

Cheers

Remember, the difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits.

Plugging along....

Uh, I may be reconsidering the knock sensor thing.  Hmmmm?  Don't really want to add that much more, I have enough to do and it may be more prudent to be way more mindful of my other factors.  I am boosted, but at a very low lever (3lbs worth of springs in the waste gate...ground adjustable by adding or removing springs).  I was using 87 octane, now using 93.  Also, will be much more conscious of timing and mixture.  Heck, there must only be a few failure modes left that I have not discovered, so maybe I am closer????

Chris,  somewhere back in history when I was growing up, it would be said that you have cast iron fortitude, hang in there, flight is eminent.  JohnD

Since I have had an issue with detonation, I am contemplating adding a knock sensor.  What do y'all know about this addition.  I do not believe Tracy's EM has a provision for a reading, so, what might be a good route to take.  The brief research I have done shows different frequencies, types etc.   What would be correct for a rotary, both as to a sensor and something to notify me in the cabin?  Thanks.  I am about to replace ALL my apex seals and soft parts and hopefully finally lick this issue....hopefully....did I mention hopefully...determinably...persistent? (heck, I wasn't planning anything else this weekend <g>)
