David,
Your brush modification sounds great............Would love to hear any details (and photos)
you would care to share with the group..........Several are flying with the "IVO" and the brush
wear has been a problem plus the loss of 4.7 lbs off the nose (or tail) would be a real plus
for most of us................I had given some thought to such a mod but I have been severely
restricted on my build time for the last 4 years taking care of aging parents and just have
not gotten that far.............Keep you testing and flight info coming (when you get in the air) !!

We have the 45-105,  you got the numbers right , I just miss-spoke on another response was thinking 65-105.  Yes we also have the elect. & the constant speed module, will adjust that later.  I also changed the brush plate from horizontal to vertical much like the MT elect. design, mounting the prop & all brush plates & insulators with the 1/2" bolts directly to the redrive flange, saves 4.7#s off nose of aircraft. Changed the wire contact design also from the crush/wire-to-plate design (very strange) to elect. terms riveted to the plates with wires to insulated connectors. Much easier to deal with when assem. prop.       David.

David,
Which blades does you "IVO" have (30" to 90" or 45" to 105" pitch range) ?............I
have electric inflight adjust "IVO" 3 blade, 74" (30" to 90" pitch)...........I have not tested
it yet but Jim Maher of this list has flown his "Dyke Delta" with a 3 blade "IVO" but I have
forgotten his diameter and which blades he has............Jump in here Jim and refresh us
on your "IVO" specifics (static rpm, MP, etc)............Jim has a 2.85 redrive..........

Enough to get the old heart a pumping - I still recall it like yesterday.

Be careful on high speed taxi - always make certain you and aircraft are ready for flight - even unintended flight.  Some folks advocate NOT doing high speed taxi test due to increased risk during that phase.   I recall one accident - where individual had not removed control locks - because he was not going to fly, only do taxi test, well he  unintentionally lifted off - fortunately only damage to the airplane.  I know you won't do that, David, but just be prepared for flight in any case.

Good luck

Ed

Ok I'll say something;;;  Insurance coverage for N655HC will be bound on the 18th of this mth. so high speed taxing will get started, are running the eng. high power w/cowel all in place testing for any cooling problems, that starts sat. or this evening, now I need to get me up to speed/airworthy.                        David R.
